Fertility Surgery

Being the mother of a healthy baby is the greatest gift of god. But for some parents, infertility has become a significant concern. There are multiple reasons behind infertility, and sometimes patients have some structural issues which can be cured with surgeries. Before opting for any female infertility treatment or male infertility treatment, it is recommended to take advice from your doctors to understand its benefits, and the risk involved in the process.

What is Hysteroscopy for infertility?

During hysteroscopy, a small fiber-optic camera called a hysteroscope is inserted through the cervix, and it reaches the uterine cavity for inspection. In this process, general anesthesia is given to the patient. The camera shows the images of the uterine cavity along with the abnormalities present in it, which can be further corrected through surgeries. Hysteroscopy reveals the reason behind abnormal bleeding. It examines the size and shape of the uterus, which may be obstructing the patient in pregnancy. This process can be both therapeutic and diagnostic.

In this process, the patient can return home the same day and start doing work from the next day.

Know about Laparoscopy for Infertility

Laparoscopic SurgeryLaparoscopy or called minimally invasive surgery involves insertions of the small camera in the abdomen by making a small incision in the body. This process contains the study of pelvic structures and the surgical corrections if needed. In Laparoscopy, a very minute incision is done and results in quick recovery and involves less risk of adhesion. Patients can go home the same day and can start doing work after 3-4 days.

Open Abdominal Procedures

Although most of the infertility issues are cured through hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy. But sometimes these techniques are not sufficient to cure pelvis abnormalities. In such a situation, the physician may recommend a more extensive abdominal incision process. This treatment requires 1-2 nights of hospitalization, and the patient can return to work after four weeks.
